Antivirus Software—free to employees and students

Sophos antivirus software for work and home machines is free to San José State employees and students:

  1. Go to SJSU Antivirus.
  2. Sign in with your SJSUOne ID and password—the same ID and password used for campus wireless.
  3. If you are installing on a personally owned device, download the home use option.

Productivity Software—free to employees and students

Adobe Creative Suite is free to San José State employees and students:

  • Campus owned machines:  Installation should be performed by your desktop technician.
  • Home use:  Go to Adobe Software Program and follow instructions.

Microsoft Windows, Office, Visio, Project

Microsoft software is available at low or no cost to San José State employees and students:

  • Campus owned machines:  Installation should be performed by desktop/lab technical support staff. Upgrades to Microsoft Windows are free on PCs which were purchased with a valid Microsoft Windows License. Servers may use Microsoft Windows Standard at no cost. Windows Server DataCenter and Enterprise are available at reduced costs. There is is no cost to the department for Microsoft Office. Microsoft Visio and Project are available at a reduced costs as well. Contact IT Services for more details.
  • Work-at-Home rights:  Visit the campus bookstore or go online and purchase software for $9.75 at Spartan Bookstore/Microsoft Products.

SPSS/SAS Statistical Software

SPSS/SAS software is available for faculty, staff and students. Check with your department's desktop support team to request installation.

Department desktop support teams can purchase the install media from the Academic Technology Computer Center (located in Clark Hall 102).
