Information Technology (Information Technology) provides the campus with a Google
Apps for Education account.
Google Apps for Education is the official Campus email service, and provides greater security and privacy than free email services. It also includes calendar and file sharing functions.
Who can use the service?
Actively enrolled Students, Faculty and Staff.
What is included?
GmailYour sjsu.edu email is Gmail, and has all the great features of Gmail, but it’s Gmail with unlimited message storage, and better privacy.
Google CalendarYour sjsu.edu calendar is Google Calendar. It allows easy blocking out of classroom time and sharing/scheduling with faculty, staff, students and people outside the university who are also using Google Calendar.
Google DriveGoogle Drive for Education allows you to store, edit and share files on the web and sync files to your computer, with unlimited storage in Google’s cloud.
Google GroupsGoogle Groups gives you the ability to create your email groups and online forums with an sjsu.edu email address.
Excellent mobile supportAll of these included features also work great on your phone and tablet.

To get to Google Apps from your phone or tablet, visit the iTunes App Store or the Google Play Store and download the Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Drive apps.

How long does it take to get the service?
Information Technology creates Google Apps accounts automatically within 24 hours
of employment and completed student enrollment records being entered.
Complete employee accounts require that the employee has completed his or her records update with HR/Faculty Affairs and requires that the department has filed all appointment paperwork.
Newly accepted student applicants to SJSU become active students when Student Records has updated their status. This is usually done 45 days before the first day of instruction.
How do I get support?
Support for this service is provided Monday through Friday, during operating hours through the Information Technology Help Desk.
Google Apps for education is offered at no cost to the University and it free for staff, faculty and actively enrolled students.
