Captioning WebEx Videos

Live Captioning

Live captioning can only be done in Meeting Center. Captioning has to be enabled by the meeting host, and the host has to assign the Closed Captionist role to the person transcribing the meeting. Live captioning will likely be a failure without a skilled transcriptionist. For more information, visit Enabling closed captions.

After-the-Fact Captioning

After-the-fact captioning can be done using Camtasia or YouTube.

Both require converting the WebEx recording to MP4 format using the WebEx Network Recording Player. For more information, visit Installing the WebEx Network Recording Player.

Captioning Support and Services

The Center for Faculty Development can assist you in creating accessible instructional videos and audio files by adding closed captions and transcripts. For more information, visit Captioning Support and Services.
