Next Generation Project Description

The first project to be delivered to campus this month is WebEx. Web conferencing, including video, audio and computer interactions will be available for all faculty and staff to host via the WebEx system.

Other individuals inside and outside of SJSU can join also participate in the scheduled conferences. Instructors will be able to use WebEx to record class activities and share the recording with their enrolled students for review after the class session.

Online training materials including video tutorials, reference guides and short how-to materials will be available to support the usage of the new tool. You can access WebEx from the MySJSU homepage and use your SJSUOne ID & password to sign-in.

Members of the SJSU campus community are starting to see the effects of the Next Gen Technology Project in the way we conduct our day-to-day activities.

You may have experienced WebEx for meetings and interactive sessions, or Lecture Capture which is enhancing the collaboration and communication with students and instructors in some classrooms.

December 2012 Tech Briefing

During the campus shutdown on the week of December 14, regular IT Help Desk support will not be available. However, you can still call 408-924-1111 (and select option 7) to access support from PC Helps during this time. PC Helps supports WebEx, SJSUOne password resets and desktop support.

October 2012 Tech Briefing

We are proud to announce the availability of the SJSU WebEx service for all faculty and staff! The WebEx service is a cloud-based hosted product, part of Cisco Collaboration Technology.

SJSU WebEx can be used to host online meetings and interactive sessions with individuals inside and outside of San José State. The Meetings service within SJSU WebEx can be used to enhance academic class activity including lecture capture for later review and interaction with remote students and/or guest lecturers.
